Yesterday, after the session in school, my mum brought me to the Golden Village at Tampines Mall. We were watching the 11.50 show. Before the show started, my mum bought 2 burgers from McDonald's and we smugged them(burgers) in. There were a LOT of commercials before the show actually started. In my opinion, I do not think that the cinema staff should add in these commercials because it is a waste of time.
Moving on, when the movie started it was about and old man called Arthur Spiderwick. He was writing and illustrating a book about a place, it was filled with ogres, demons and brownies( not those that are meant to be eaten). Then, a family name the Graces moved into a house which was actually 'haunted' by a brownie. A boy named Jared Grace found a key in his kitchen drawer. He saw a 'elevator' and he deceides to go up into the attic to explore. I feel that he is very courageous as he does not know what is in the attic but he just goes into it. He goes into the attic and finds a brownie and the chest containing a book( Arthur Spiderwick's) there was a warning note on it but Jared was curious and since "curiousity kills the cat" he opens the book and sets free the ogres and the cheif ogre mulgareth. ( did I spell it correctly) Jared brother, Simon, gets captured by ogres but he cant see them. Jared attempts to rescue Simon and meets Hog something(forgot name), he spits onto Jared and allows him to see the ogres. Simon is being held captive in a cage. Mulgareth, the cheif ogre, orders simon to bring him Arthur Spiderwicks book. Simon agrees and Jared brings him home disallowing him to hand over the book as they would be destroyed anyway.
Jared visits his 'insane' aunt at a sanitarium and his aunt tells him the only way to destroy the book is by visiting the creator, Arthur spiderwick, Jared opens the book and summons Arthur's pet griffin. The griffin is very big, majestic and it is REALLY magnificent. The griffin glides and soars through the air like a rocket. It has a head of a bird and a body of a bird. The griffin brings them to Arthur and Jared's sister and brother get mezmerized by slyphs(magical creatures which sing a song that mezmerise people and eventually kill them). Arthur will no t destroy the book and sends Jared and his siblings back home. They prepare for the fight against Mulgareth and fill their oven with tomato sauce(burns ogres skin) and light a match, which eventually causes the BAGS of tomato sauce to EXPLODE burning all the ogres ecept the cheif. He transforms into Jared's divorced father and Jared see throughs the lie and STABS Mugareth. Mulgareth gets agitated and transform to ogre mode.
Jared lures Mulgareth to the roof and throws the book to the Hog, Mulgareth transform into a bird and snatches the bird but Hog guy(he loves to eat birds) eats Mulgareth.
This story is quite interesting and there are some frightening scenes, it is rather like the show Monster House.
