First, Ms Nasitah briefed us on what we were supposed to do there, behave ourselves blah blah, something about the Navy and The SAF(Singapore Armed Forces). I was really bored during that period of time cos it was like I wanted to doze off and I just wanted to go to the Discovery Centre cus I wanted to chui leng qi ("blow air con") and the weather that day was REALLLLLLY BURNING HOT!!! When she finally finished, we boarded the bus and we were on our way to the SDC.
When we reached there, the first thing I smelt was POPCORN and CANDY FLOSS! Then, we saw a group of 'unruly youths'. i called them tat cos they were speaking like Ah Sengs' and Ah Bengs' and their tone of talking was like the care-less attitude. We proceeded on and we went to a room called the Hospitality Room(I think). There was a host called Ms Jasmine and another guy who's name I have forgotten. She told us we were having a Discovery Race, sounds familiar? Cos the idea was from the Amazing Race! To me, I feel that they should at LEAST change the words more cos the Amazing Race is like copyrighted and it would display a lack of creativity. ( this is my opinion, for yours, please post at chatbox) Moving on, we were split up into groups, my group had 5 ppl. J HO, Mel, Aliff, Nas and ME. We had a bit of an advantage because J Ho knew the place quite well as he came here for last year's IT club project. It was like he knew it as it was the back of his hand, one minute we were running here. One minute we were running there it was like the NAPFA 1.6 km run. O ya, we were supposed to find 4 bags which were hidden from us and each bag had a shape on it and of cos we were supposed to copy it down.
In The END, we only had 3 shapes out of 4. Although I was quite disappointed, I was also happy cos some people only found 2. I guess you would call this xing zai le huo ( laughing at one's demise). Although some of you might find this 'despicable', I feel that I'm just having a bit of fun. (pls dun let ur thoughts bout me change). After that we had a bus ride and the guide talked to us about the things and special statues around the SAFTI camp area.
Then, (I'll skip the part where a woman guide brought us all around again except for the future part) we went to a place that had about 80 computers. We were told to choose our looks and what we wanted to be when the world was about 20 25 years later. I really hope that there would be intelligent homes(FYI , its places that at a press of a button u can just order something. eg. I press a button for instant noodles. Maybe after 5 minutes, the noodles will come out WITHOUT having me to cook it myself. Wouldn't that be great??! Darryl was next to me and he got a higher creativity level. Then, he went sorta loony and started 'dancing and jumping'. He realized Mdm Sharifah was behind him and immediately stopped. I guess it was probably because of the humiliation and embarrassment.
Well, the trip was fun and educational which helped me learned some values like teamwork and working together in harmony and interdependence when we were playing the Discovery Race. For interdependence, we had to help another team in exchange for their help on like where to find the bag although this wasn't right, I could say we are sort of cunning. We must look on the bright side and not the dark side of life so we have to have the don't worry be happy attitude.
