E.D.G.E Camp at VS just finished yesterday! The Camp lasted 3 days and I forgot wat E.D.G.E means... Overall, it was quite fun but the crappy thing was that the camp was near Changi Airport so you can imagine how noisy it was whenever a plane flew over. There were quite many activities so we were pretty busy. First, we had to walk to the campsite. It was about a 10km walk! My first thought was: Why the school so cheapskate! Cannot hire bus! It was a seriously long walk. Almost 5 times NAPFA run. When the walk was completed,my feet were very very sore! we did kayaking! I was so so excited hearing that. My heart was beating extremely quick. Then, my class proceeded to the OPEN SEA for the safety breifing. Blah Blah... The instructor talked for about 20 mins so you can imagine how bored I was listening to him talking. Finally we went out to sea. The sea bed was very slippery as it was probably covered with algae. I nearly slipped! Luckily we were locking our arms together so I regained balance quickly! Kayaking was very fun! The only problem was that there were 2 people in a kayak and we had to paddle in sync. The kayaking session was only half an hour... I was dissapointed to hear that we had to paddle back to shore after only a mere half an hour! That was the only activity we did for day 1. When we were having dinner, I was suddenly very homesick. I wanted to break down and cry but I knew I couldn't do it in front of everybody so I held back my tears and tried to think about something else. nan ren liu xie bu liu lei .At 11 pm it was lights out and surprisingly I fell asleep after about half an hour.
Day 2 was more busy as we did quite a few activities! We did rockclimbing and the CRC(Confident Rope Course). Rockclimbing wasn't as easy as it seemed. At the first impression, I thought that it looked quite easy, until I tried it out and found out there were so many types of rocks. Some were jagged so it was easy to get a footing on them but the sloping rocks were practically useless to me. lol. I couldn't step on it for less than 5 secs before my foot slipped off. I only managed to climb about 6 panels before my leg and arms muscles gave way. The CRC was the real highlight! I had a small fear of heights so the Peer Leader in my camp forced to do it to conquer my fear. We climbed up a super tall tree which was about 5 storeys high! We had to climb up till about the 3rd storey and walk across a long log that was chained to a few steel chains. My heart was palpitating like crazy! I couldn't even take the first step till the peer leader pulled the line attached to the harness further from me till I had to let go of the log... My legs were trembling like jelly and I shuffled my legs across in order to cross it. The experiance was hell but very very memorable. My fear isn't so bad now! I would never forget the day I crossed a 3 storey high log. So that's about all for day 2!
Day 3 was one of the crappiest day! It was the day to go home but it was also the day we had to clean up the **** campsite that was super dirty! My class got the lousiest job-CLEANING THE TOILETS!!!! I was like wtf wtf wtf!!! I thought there's something called a cleaner to do that. But noooo, the school was too cheapskate to engage a cleaner at the campsite. Luckily, we didn't need to clean the toilet bowls!LOL! The floor was flooded with water and sand. We scrubbed and cleaned and washed and slogged out before the toilet was clean!(but not spotless) Then, we took a coach and went back to VS! So that's about it for the 3 days camp. I wanted to cry many times but I held my tears back because I knew I was a Victorian and Victorians don't cry because of crappy reasons!
